U15 Academy Girls End First Trip To Nationals With 8th Place Finish

The U15 Girls Academy returned from Calgary with an 8th place finish at the National Championships.  It was a great experience for the team, and one they will only continue to grow from.  The entire Club and community is so proud of the team!

Game 1: The U15 Academy Girls rolled to an easy 11-0 victory over the Whitehorse Yukon Selects in their first match at Nationals on Wednesday.  Five goals from Lexi Kroeker, two by Myaura Browne and singles from Bhen Odol, Maxeen Rygowska-Sieczkowski, Alexa Cimermancic, and Sasha Marinkano sealed the win for the team from Ontario. Lauren Drummond blanked Yukon in goal.

Game 2:  The girls squared off against FC Regina on Friday with 1st place in Group C on the line.  It was a hard fought game, but the team prevailed 1-0, and will now move on to the seeding phase of the tournament!  Maxeen Rygowska-Sieczkowski scored the lone goal, and Lauren Drummond notched the shutout.

Game 3:  
Quarterfinal Surrey United SC(British Columbia) defeated the U15 Girls Academy 2-0 to find their way to a Sunday semi-final match on goals from Sophie Campbell and Mikayla Tupper, and behind a shutout from GK Soninka Nandha.

Game 4:  Seeding 5th-8th - St. John's SC (Newfoundland and Labrador) took the1-0 victory with a lone goal from Camryn Bonia.

Game 5:  7th/8th Place Match - Suburban FC secured seventh place with a 5-1 victory behind goals from Grace Somers (2), Claire Langille, Erin McCormick, and Adrianna Timmons. Maxeen Rygowska-Sieczkowski scored for Ontario and the U15 Girls Academy, and secured an 8th place finish for the team.
