Submitted By Danielle Byers on Monday, September 10, 2018
The U16 Girls Academy team travelled to Stratroy this weekend, and won the WRSL League Championship!

Their first match at 3pm versus their Waterloo neighbour was a hard fought 90 minute battle from both teams with the result going to Kitchener with a 2-1 win.

The second match was not until 9pm versus the Guelph Gryphons.  The Kitchener Academy girls dug deep to play another 90 minute match.  The game was back and forth all match, as Kitchener went up 3-1, but Guelph came back to tie it up.  The excitment built as the game went into penalty kicks!  Lauren Drummond came out to stop one penalty kick, and with one miss from Guelph, the team brought home another Trophy to display.
