2019 Outdoor Academy - U17 Boys Academy - U17 Boys Academy - 2019 REGIONAL CHAMPS!!!!
Submitted By Jeff Kruse on Saturday, September 21, 2019
With a last-play goal, in the final game of the season, Kitchener's U17 Boys defeated Windsor 2-1 to overtake London and Windsor, becoming 2019 WRSL regional champs!

In a tight battle in Windsor, with the heat sucking the energy from both teams, Kitchener pulled out a last gasp victory on a final play corner kick.  With every player crowding the box Ben Weilers' header bounced off the post and into the crowd, finally finding a way into the back of the net.

Each team had chances to put the game away earlier, with Noah Lalonde saving a Windsor penalty mid way through the second half.  Kitchener made it even more difficult, having several balls bounce off the posts and crossbar.  Windsor proved to be a worthy opponent, but the continual pressure from Kitchener eventually resulted in their second goal of the game.

Kitchener finishes the season with 33 points from 15 games (11-0-4) and will participate in the Regional League Championships on Thanksgiving weekend.

Way to go champs!!!
