U14 Spirit 1 London Alliance 5
Submitted By Mark Rebellato on Tuesday, June 11, 2019
Coming off a tough draw against Guelph this past Thursday night, our play on the defensive side of the ball kept sliding on this damp, cold windy evening in June.

Out of the lineup on this night Brandon (broken finger), Cullen (school trip), Nathan (injured foot), Milos (vacation) it was difficult for our roster to keep up with a very hungry Alliance squad.  Their key striker Everton Rigopoulos scored four goals tonight.  Our defenders seemed to have a hard time stopping Everton along with his supporting cast.

Once they had a big lead, Alliance played the ball very well, switching the play and maintaining possession.

Filip Ratiu scored our lone goal tonight on a feed from Chizi.

With a short roster we could not apply the pressure that takes teams off their game and we continue to kick balls away unnecessarily giving up possession and making plays with no purpose.

We will have to come to our training sessions this week with focus to recover and prepare for our game in Windsor on Saturday before our three week layoff from WRSL play.

Focus will undoubtedly be back on defense and recovering the form that found success at Kickoff.

Man of the match was Roman Marinelli for his strong relentless play throughout the game.
